Summary Full text Source
The conclusions emphasise the importance of embedding sport and physical activity within the educational context—from early childhood through to tertiary levels—and promoting an integrated approach that links the sectors of sport, education, youth and health.
They highlight that children and adolescents face declining physical activity levels, rising sedentary behaviour and related health and learning challenges, and argue that school settings are a key environment to reverse these trends.

Member States are invited to promote flexible, inclusive and high-quality physical education, make use of school infrastructure before, during and after school hours (including outdoors), support active commuting, and strengthen partnerships with sport clubs and the sports movement. They are also encouraged to monitor physical activity, fitness and related competences, collect data and foster evidence-based programmes. The sport sector is asked to collaborate with schools, offer accessible opportunities for children and adolescents, support coaches and volunteers in non-formal contexts, and share best practices across Europe.
